We’re growing a person!
It has been so strange and exciting to find out that we’re pregnant. Until recently I didn’t have any symptoms except extraordinary sleepiness. That was until this past weekend. It seems that the baby is doing quite well because I suddenly have all sorts of fun symptoms, only some of which I want to make public! The most frustrating thing so far has been the nausea. I wasn’t expecting to feel so sick to my stomach or to lose my appetite so quickly! Jered had a genius idea and made me little packets of crackers to take with me everywhere. These have helped tremendously. It seems like the nausea only shows up when my blood sugar gets low and goes away when I have something very plain to eat.
The strangest part of all of this is that while I’m tired and nauseated and a few other things, with every symptom I can’t help but be more excited. Somehow the symptoms make me feel that all of this is real. You might think that sounds crazy but we found out on October 2nd and the only “proof” we have of the pregnancy so far is three very positive home pregnancy tests! Our first doctor’s appointment is this coming Monday the 29th. Once we have the doctor’s official stamp of pregnancy I’m sure things will feel more real for both of us! The OB practice where we are going does a routine ultrasound during the first appointment since they don’t do their first appointments until 8 weeks. We will get to see our little speck of a baby and hear it’s heartbeat- there is nothing I can think of more exciting than that!
