Mwah!
If you’ve been around Hazel lately, you’ve noticed how much she loves to give kisses- she will give you a big wet kiss if you ask nicely, and if you’re far away she’ll even blow you a kiss (especially if you have a snack she wants). Recently she’s picked up a few new animal noises- she can now moo like a cow, roar like a lion, make very realistic sounding monkey noises, and of course, bark like a dog. She says dog, bye bye, hi, snack, cheese, daddy, nononono No, and Deee- we’re not sure what that means but she says it a lot when she’s around me (maybe I’ll be Dee instead of Mama?).
It was a busy week for us here- Hazel went to Busch Gardens with Omi and me on Thursday. She loved all of the Sesame Street characters and even got to ride one of the little kid water rides. Omi caught it all on video, which I hope to post later this week.
Saturday, our friends Jamie and Geno brought their twins over for a play date. Their twins are 7 months old and have grown so much since the last time we saw them. Hazel had fun playing with the babies, and pretended to be a baby again herself when she wanted her very own bottle (she usually does only sippy cups, now, but we humored her and let her have a bottle of water).
Today we headed over to our friends Michelle and Frank’s amazing new house in Williamsburg. Hazel and Nora were excited to see each other again, and we hope to get together for another play date with them really soon.
Later this afternoon we headed over to the bike shop to order our bike trailer. We ended up getting the Burley D’Lite ST – it comes with a stroller kit and the option to add a jogging stroller conversion kit and even a cross country ski attachment (not that we get much snow in these parts!). We will be getting a call from the store this week to let us know when we can expect it to come in- we’re excited to get out on the bikes with Hazel this summer! While we were at the bike shop we also got Hazel her first helmet- she didn’t enjoy putting it on, but we’re hoping she’ll warm up to it in the same way she’s warmed up to her sun hat. Lately, she will go and get her shoes and hat and ask us to put them on her- she then proceeds to walk through the house with her hat and shoes. It’s really cute!
We haven’t been taking many pictures lately, but I’m planning to change that this week, so look for a picture and video post later in the week.
