Moving Pictures
I’d like to start this video post with a few quick videos taken in the past three weeks- In the first few, Hazel reads to her Papa, tries her hand at the Sunday sudoku and crossword puzzles and eats with a spoon.

This morning we took Hazel to a place called MyGym- it’s basically a little activity center for kids and they have classes based on age groups. We had a free trial class and thought it would be a fun thing to do on a very rainy, humid Saturday morning. Hazel had a blast, but we won’t be signing her up for the classes, at $60 a month and a $75 joining fee we’d be paying more for her “Gym” membership than we pay for ours!
Here are the fun videos from today.

In other exciting news, we will be making a trip down to Alabama to visit Hazel’s great Granny and Grandpa at the end of next week- it will be a long road trip (almost 14 hours), but after braving the trip to Europe we think she’s well prepared!

I forgot the most exciting thing that happened this week as I was posting this week’s photo entry- Hazel used her potty chair for the very first time this week! She has been practicing for a few weeks now, but she actually let me know that she needed to go and used her potty. No photos of this… ever.
Here are more pictures of Hazel from this week- we’ll move from potty talk right back to the dinner table… Hazel is getting really good at using a spoon and a fork!

Our Hazel is just such a cool chick…

Busy Month!
August has been quite a busy month for us. Hazel has been steadily working on a mouthful of teeth- she now has 5 with 3 or 4 more in the works. This is quite a big deal since she had just 2 for about 4 months! In non-toothy news, Hazel has been keeping busy playing with her dolls, reading books (we have some great video footage of this that I need to upload), making friends with the neighborhood animals and their owners, and riding in her new bike trailer.
Uncle Andrew (my sister Sarah’s husband) was in town this week and we had him over for coffee on Friday afternoon to meet his niece. Hazel was quite enamored with her silly uncle (please pay no mind to the fact that Hazel isn’t wearing pants- it was hot and she is very wiggly)
Because she’s getting so many teeth at once, she’s back into chewing on anything she can get into her mouth. Here she chews some of Omi’s jewelry. Delicious!
She loves to play with the old radio in our dining room. She likes turning the music on very very loud and dancing.
Sometimes she sends e-mails to the radio show hosts and requests her favorite songs…
Another new thing she loves to do is eat snacks. She even asks for “Nacks…”

And when she’s done she feeds them to Mama… mmmmm

Pictures!
Finally some new pictures- how can you resist this face?

I love to close my eyes on purpose…

All that playing can make a girl really sleepy…
But by the next day, it’s back to playing again!

Lately I run around with my fingers in my mouth a lot.. I am getting my top 4 teeth!

I really love to brush my teeth (she thinks it tickles)

Just as blond haired and blue eyed as she was when we first met her…

Except now she has a tendency to wear a lot more funky hats! (Thanks Pam and Bill and Great Grammy Anna!)

Summer Fun
Here are this week’s videos- we took a quick trip to Busch Gardens last week and Hazel went on her first amusement park ride. She loved it!

All that hot summer heat sometimes forces us to stay inside in the air conditioned house… this video is the reason why we’ve decided the tv has to stay off during the days now- notice how she’s eating animal crackers right from the bag (we were cleaning out the diaper bags from our trip, this isn’t something Hazel gets to do often!)

And finally, a video from this morning. Hazel shared her mid-morning snack with Oscar. Lately Hazel likes to walk around with a little cup or bowl full of snacks. She’s pretty careful about keeping them all in their little container.
